Gore Queen FX offers hands-on moulage and special effects training designed for military, law enforcement, EMS, healthcare, emergency management and special effects professionals. We have supported military, medical, and emergency response training exercises throughout the United States & abroad. Our courses are built from real-world casualty simulation experience and designed to provide practical, immediately applicable skills.
Taught either at your location or in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina, all materials are provided and students will learn a variety of skills and techniques from our internationally recognized special effects makeup artists.

Basic Moulage
Course Description: Learn how to create realistic injuries for medical simulation, military & first responder training scenarios, film, and other special effects applications. Each class is 6-8 hours (depending on how much practice time you'd like!) with a 45 minute lunch break.
Course Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Tuition: $465 per student. A $105 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration. The remaining balance is due 7 days before the course date. - Sculpt small-scale custom prosthetic effects in clay
- Create introductory-level prosthetic molds using industry-standard materials
- Select appropriate silicones, urethanes, and molding materials for various projects
- Color & finish silicone prosthetics using industry-standard materials
- Manufacture custom silicone prosthetics from sculpture through final casting

- Select appropriate silicone and molding materials for a variety of life-casting projects
- Create a small-scale life cast of a finger, toe, ear, or tongue using industry-standard techniques
- Produce a medium-scale facial life cast from preparation through mold completion
- Cast, color, and finish realistic silicone replicas from life-cast molds
- Apply advanced materials and techniques to expand future life casting projects

Course Description: Learn how to create custom airbrush effects for medical simulation, military/law enforcement/first responder training scenarios, film, and other special effects applications. Each class is 5 hours with a 30 minute lunch break.

- Select and configure the appropriate airbrush, compressor, and accessories for a variety of special effects applications
- Confidently assemble, operate, and troubleshoot professional airbrush systems
- Develop proper airbrush control techniques for smooth blends, detail work, and realistic injury simulation
- Create introductory airbrushed effects including bruising, burns, cyanosis, rashes, lacerations and abrasions
- Maintain airbrush equipment through proper cleaning, disassembly, storage and preventive care
