Gore Queen FX was started from a need for highly realistic and anatomically correct moulage (injury simulation special effects makeup for medical training purposes). When faced with medical training, many professionals in the industry decided that the current makeup techniques were just not enough and did not provide the level of realism and shocking imagery that real-life cases included. Turning to movie-quality makeup artists, the branch of moulage was taken to a level many didn't think possible.

Why use Moulage?
Research has shown time and time again that moulage and other immersive training aids create a realistic environment that allows trainees to desensitize to stressors that may interfere with effective patient treatment. Called "Stress Inoculation Training," this type of high-paced, high-fidelity training allows trainees to focus on point of care and move past stress responses associated with any visual response to traumatic injuries. As moulage is typically applied to live role players, it allows exposure to different types of patients such as those that are combative or disoriented. Moulage can also be applied to training mannequins, allowing trainees to practice medical procedures.
